Efficient Optimal Equation Formulation in Lumped Power-conserving Systems
نویسنده
چکیده
Sets of inputs and outputs are defined for lumped power-conserving systems, and a set of inputs is defined to be consistent if the corresponding set of outputs can be written in terms of it. To find a set of state equations, dne needs a consistent set of inputs. Given one consistent set of inputs it is shown (1) how to test whether any other set of inputs is consistent, and (2) given a preference ordering on all sets of inputs with certain additional properties, how to find an optimal set. The algorithm for (2) is shown to be 0(m5)-time, where m is the number of external elements of the system. Its application is to finding optimal sets of state equations.

It is shown how port-based modeling of lumped-parameter complex physical systems (multi-body systems, electrical circuits, electromechanical systems, ..) naturally leads to a geometrically defined class of systems, called port-Hamiltonian systems. These are Hamiltonian systems defined with respect to a power-conserving geometric structure capturing the basic interconnection laws, and a Hamilton...

Modal analysis is extensively used to study dynamic behavior of continuous and lumped parameter linear systems. More specifically, modal analysis can be used for the analysis and controller design of dynamic systems. In both cases, reduction of model size without degrading the accuracy is often required for the efficient use of the model. The reduction of modal models has been extensively studi...
متن کاملMathematical Analysis of Optimal Tracking Interval Management for Power Efficient Target Tracking Wireless Sensor Networks
In this paper, we study the problem of power efficient tracking interval management for distributed target tracking wireless sensor networks (WSNs). We first analyze the performance of a distributed target tracking network with one moving object, using a quantitative mathematical analysis. We show that previously proposed algorithms are efficient only for constant average velocity objects howev...

Accurate temperature estimation of high density active power electronic systems is vital for dynamic thermal management. Accurate and reliable estimation is especially important in regions that are close to failure, either due to high temperature or significant materials or component sensitivity. Improved estimation can support lower safety factors and enhanced system performance. An investigat...
